Lyric's Kittens Giacomo & Aria - about 2 weeks old

During kitten season, that last can sound more like the desperate cries of hungry kittens, their eyes barely open – at least it often sounds so in the world of rescue.  This weekend, as we celebrate selfless mothers giving up their slice of pie, we also celebrate feline mothers who were willing to give their all.  Mothers like Lyric, who defended her kittens from a predator, becoming injured in the process, before she and her family were rescued by FFGW.

Lyric’s wounds are healing, and she is being treated for a sinus infection, and eventually when she’s well enough will receive dental care for broken teeth likely damaged when she was protecting her kittens.  Some mom, huh!  Lyric is having difficulty producing enough pie – ah, milk – to feed all her babies but no worries because dedicated FFGW foster Colleen is bottle feeding her babies and helping transition them to supplemental food.

Supplies and medical care for a hero mom, a Tiger Mom, like Lyric are costly and so, if you’re looking for a way to honor your mom on Mother’s Day, please consider a donation at our Baby Shower in her name to one of our moms!
